
Summary
Gary has many years experience as a quantity surveyor with building and civil engineering contractors and cladding/curtain walling subcontractors. During this time he developed a focus on the commercial management of building, civil engineering and cladding/curtain walling projects, attaining detailed knowledge of the commercial management of a wide range of building projects for many different types of clients using traditional and bespoke forms of contracts and associated sub-contracts.
Gary has experience in producing and presenting referrals and responses in adjudication proceedings, preparing and evaluating claims for extensions of time and loss and expense, and undertaking contract cost audits. In addition, he has assisted in the research and preparation of expert reports on quantum and delay for adjudications and arbitrations, and has undertaken research, preparation and drafting of claims and statements of case for domestic and international arbitrations. He has also provided procurement advice and contract drafting services for developers and main contractors on domestic and international contracts.
Gary’s extensive experience of contract commercial management and his detailed understanding of construction contracts give him a particular strength in the analysis and resolution of complex construction issues. He is experienced in the resolution of disputes with employers, contractors and sub-contractors. Gary also regularly writes legal articles for the weekly magazine “Contract Journal” and has conducted training seminars to construction professionals.
