
Summary
Peter trained as a quantity surveyor with a major national building and civil engineering contractor. He has gained 36 years of construction experience, a significant part of which was as the director of quantity surveying for the London operating company of one of the largest private contractors in the United Kingdom. Peter has also spent a period in construction contract consultancy as a sole practitioner.
Peter has been involved in commercial and general management roles, throughout the United Kingdom and has spent time working on projects in Eastern and Western Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Egypt and China. These projects have encompassed a broad spectrum in terms of value, complexity, procurement technique, contract and type. These have included petro-chemical, gas process, light and heavy rail, rail plant, marine civil engineering, sewage treatment, drinking water, hospitals, hotels, prisons, major commercial and retail schemes and building refurbishment projects.
His involvement in these projects has provided extensive experience in the analysis and resolution of complex commercial, contractual and management problems on major construction projects, including providing expert evidence thereupon and litigation / arbitration support to appointed lawyers. Peter is an accredited expert witness under the Cardiff University Bond Solon scheme.
Peter presently manages Brewer Consulting's central London office.
