Summary

David has a broad range of experience gained over the past 12 years in the construction and petrochemical industry, having worked for both international consultants and contractors and having represented client organisations. Initially trained as a construction manager, David obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Law with The College of Law. He has strong technical skills complimented by legal and commercial skills which he draws upon to provide clear and effective advice and solutions to issues arising on complex projects.

He has gained considerable experience in dealing with a variety of standard and bespoke construction and engineering contracts, both internationally and in the domestic arena. His experience includes such issues as delay and disruption, loss and/or expense, certification, forensic quantum analysis, assessment and apportionment of damage, contractual interpretation and procedural matters.

David has extensive experience in arbitration, adjudication and litigation support, as well as acting in commercial negotiations and settlements to assist in the amicable resolution of disputes. He has provided commercial management and dispute advice to a selection of clients on contracts that span major building, civil engineering, oil and gas, mechanical and electrical, and fit out works.
