Summary

Ewen is a highly experienced individual with both technical and commercial exposure to the construction industry having worked for both international consultants and contractors. Particular experience has been gained in project management and project control from inception to completion with a full appreciation of the construction process having represented the Client, the Engineer, and the Contractor. Ewen is a results focused individual who concentrates on delivering projects on time and to the requisite quality. Significant legal knowledge has also been obtained by acting in commercial negotiations and settlements, resolving potential disputes and in providing advice on contract procurement. Ewen has first hand experience of representing clients in litigation, arbitration and adjudication, both for the claimant and respondent. Initially trained as a civil engineer, strong technical skills compliment commercial skills giving added value to clients in achieving optimal solutions in complex projects.

Commercial management and dispute advice has been provided to a selection of clients on contracts that span major building, civil engineering, oil and gas, mechanical and electrical, highway and fit out works. In particular, Ewen has prepared numerous expert witness reports with respect to time analyses and their associated additional costs; drafted standard forms of contract and lectured on various commercial and contractual subjects within the construction industry.
