
Summary
Chris has more than 18 years experience in the construction industry, which includes 12 years in dispute resolution. His experience has embraced a number of complex projects, including building schemes, ship building projects, rolling stock production, mechanical and electrical installation, and various civil engineering schemes. He has worked in a variety of countries including the UK, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Middle East. Chris is a Chartered Civil Engineer with a law degree and arbitration qualifications.
His extensive experience has involved both contentious and non-contentious matters. His contentious experience includes appointments as an expert witness, preparation and rebuttal of claims, delay analysis, quantum assessment, forensic investigation and mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation support services. He has provided such services to contractors, employers, consultants and architects, and he has worked with a number of the leading UK law firms.
Chris' non-contentious experience includes drafting a framework agreement, contract amendments and giving presentations on a range of contractual issues such as delay analysis, liquidated damages and practical completions.
He has had a number of articles on construction law topics published in Construction Week, the leading construction publication in the Middle East. His articles have focused on UAE law, FIDIC contracts, claims and delay analysis.
Chris is currently on the committee of the Society of Construction Law UAE.
