Barry has some 45 years of experience with construction companies, cost and contract consultancies in UK and internationally. This work has involved working at sites and being office based on the day-to-day management of projects and, building on the knowledge gained, specialising in dispute resolution.
He is a specialist in the measurement of variations, preparation and negotiation of contractual submissions for extension of time and additional costs and defending claims by rigorous analysis of contractual entitlements. He is experienced in identifying delaying and disruptive events for inclusion in critical path delay analysis techniques for the analysis of project delay.
He has extensive experience in analysis and resolution of commercial and contractual problems on major building, civil engineering, rail, highway, mechanical and electrical, and petrochemical contracts in the UK, Europe, Middle East and other international locations. Barry is a specialist in commercial and contractual audits on major projects.
Barry has experience in representing either of the parties to an adjudication including the preparation of all submissions in support of that party's case and representation of that party at meetings. He is also experienced at case preparation for mediation, arbitration and litigation.
He has prepared documents for use by expert witnesses as well as being appointed as an expert witness in connection with quantum matters
