Summary

Steve is a professional Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years experience of civil engineering and commercial building works, including an extensive involvement with structures on large-scale projects. He has excellent commercial management skills, accomplished in the progression of contractual and financial matters from commencement of project to completion, including final accounts. He also has valuable experience of negotiating contractual variations and claim settlements with a variety of clients, including dispute analysis and assessment for mediation and arbitration procedures.

Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Steve had over fourteen years in senior positions in the United Kingdom. These included positions as Managing Quantity Surveyor and Project Quantity Surveyor with large construction contractors and as Commercial Manager with specialist companies, associated with major infrastructure and structural projects, airport terminals, commercial buildings and manufacturing facilities. Ý Steve has also provided advice on contractual and commercial aspects, as a consultant acting on behalf of main and subcontract clientele.

Steve has over eight years of overseas work experience in Hong Kong, mainly in the position of Senior Claims Consultant. During this time, he worked predominantly in claim preparation and management on major infrastructure schemes, including the Hong Kong International Airport Project, KCRC East Rail Project and other major roadwork schemes. He was also involved in an arbitration matter on the Tsing Ma Bridge, acting on behalf of the Contractor and he successfully represented a Contractor in mediation on a major roadwork project in Hong Kong.

Steve is now employed by Brewer Consulting to work in their Dubai Office in the position of Senior Consultant and is presently engaged on the Palm Jumeirah Project acting on behalf of the developer.
